I started braiding when I was child and my mother took notice of my hobby. I found a unique joy in making things beautiful and using my hands. I've spent time learning how to braid and tried to perfect my craft.
I have been braiding hair for over 10 years. And I can't seem to leave it alone. I love the options, versatility and self expression that protective styles offer women of color. This site is going to speak to my love of protective styling and the creative outlet t of being a braider /hairstylist.
I am a D.I.Y (Do It Yourself) advocate! We live in a very fortunate time right now because we are inundated with information sources on pretty much anything. It can be hard to figure out what information is correct and authentic versus what is disingenuous.
I hope to provide a real voice that will cut through the noise and provide answers to some of your pressing natural hair and protective styling questions through my braiding services, informative D.I.Y videos, reviews, hacks and blogs.
As much as I love braiding and styling I don't have the pleasure of working as a creative full time, just yet! I am currently a full time Science educator in my 6th year teaching and I'm working on my master's degree. Needless to say, I have a lot on my plate that demands a lot from me. But I need a creative outlet and this section of the internet is where I will create it.
